Far Cry 5: Arcade - Jungle Raid

Jungle Raid is an open ended level I build in the Far Cry 5: Arcade editor back in 2019 as part of my level design portfolio. The level served as a good example of my abilities to design open world locations, structure natural areas and populate the level with key affordances. It's been a well received talking point in all my interviews I've had over the years including with Ubisoft, Rebellion, Techland and Crytek.

The objective of the level is to locate and eliminate three rogue military targets located in the main camps.

The idea behind it was to have 3 distinct locations on the sides, 3 spawn points in between and 1 exit point in the middle so that players would be encouraged to tackle the objectives in whatever order they prefer.

Camp A was designed from the start to be the most difficult of the three by featuring all around fencing, watch towers and a large number of enemy AI. Thematically, it draws inspiration from your typical military base.

Camp B draws inspiration from the previous camp, but is significantly smaller and is meant to visually look more like a forward outpost. Though, to make it stand out, I added a radio antenna nearby that acts both as landmark meant to help with orientation

Camp C is the most distinct of the three, featuring a look inspired by the religious Cambodian temples. The layout is almost entirely symmetrical with tall structure meant to encourage the players to maneuver around it for information.

The in between areas also received their unique features in order to make them stand out visually and help the player better orient around.

Throughout the road network, players will encounter small patrols and item stashes similarly to the base game.

Overall, it was a fun project to work on and helped me on a handful of occasions in my interview talks.
